Should you? Absolutely.

If you want your wedding vendor team to do their best work and not pass out mid-toast, feed them. This is one of those wedding etiquette topics that gets weirdly heated for no good reason. The reality is simple: if someone is working your wedding for 6 or more hours, you should plan to give them a real meal. Not a protein bar. Not “whatever’s left.” A real meal.  In fact, in my former life as a wedding photographer, I had it written into my contract that I had to have a meal provided.  Also, a side note, just like a guest, you should check to see if your wedding vendors have any food allergies.  Serving a gluten free vendor a boxed sandwich probably will waste your money and leave you with one photographer in an emergency room.

What Wedding Vendors to Be Fed?

Any wedding `vendor who is working through dinner. That usually includes:

  • Photographer and second shooter

  • DJ or band members

  • Videographer

  • Day-of coordinator or planning assistant

  • Photo booth attendants

  • Lighting or A/V crew (depending on hours)

This is not about being fancy. It’s about being fair. You wouldn’t go eight hours without eating. Neither should the people in charge of your timeline, your music, or your memories.
